Brother & Sister

This incidence happened during Diwali days. All are busy with their last minutes preparation of coming festival. My brother & I went for shopping, after spending 2-3 hours at different shops we bought some gifts, only thing left was some colors for Rangloi & sweets for our elder sister. Bro thought to buy best sweets of that shop & after taking long time we bought two sweets & praised ourself for being best siblings. When we reached at parking area one young boy holding a small girl of 4-5 yrs came to us with some handmade showpieces. He was insisting us to buy that, just for curiosity I started talking with him.

I came to know that that girl is his sister and they are living with their father who was sick & not able to earn in this festival time and they even don’t eat from morning. He wanted to sale those showpieces which his father had made and wants to buy sweet for his sister. Somehow his innocent eyes and talks touched my Bro & me, we bought two showpieces n gave some extra money and we stay there to watch his act. It was 10.00 in night, He carried his sister to Sweet-mart and he bought the sweet which his sister had asked for. I saw the most beautiful smile on that young girl’s face and sparkles & satisfaction on that boy’s face.

My bro & I were just stacked watching that & realized that there is someone better than us. That boy’s words “Diwali to amarey pan hoy ne ben (We also have Diwali)” still in my ears.
